The Oasis
with The Friendless Youngsters, The Tom Glenne 5.5, more
Personnel
Danny -- electric guitar, vocals
Will -- drums
Steve -- bass, vocals
Dov -- electric guitar, drums, vocals
Todd -- 12-string acoustic guitar, vocals, omnichord, piano
Set list
The peeker
Keep on hiding
Autumn sweater [Yo La Tengo}
Identicall
She is such a pain
Oh! sweet nuthin' [The Velvet Underground]
Notes
The most chaotic set ever. "Identicall" almost self-destructed. "Found your way out of it" was cut from the set at the last minute. The piano on "Oh! sweet nuthin'" was horribly out of tune. And, while attempting to smash his guitar at the end of the set, Danny broke one of the house microphones while Todd cleaned up his equipment and Dov, Steve and Will made noise. The end of the beginning of the end.

El Mocambo
with Trees Dreaming and Old Man Dog
Personnel
Danny -- electric guitar, vocals
Will -- drums, vocals
Steve -- bass, vocals
Dov -- electric guitar, vocals
Todd -- acoustic and electric guitars, vocals
Set list (though this doesn't look right, and is likely wrong)
The peeker
It's all you do
You
Keep on hiding
Identicall
She is such a pain
Found your way out of it
Where is my mind? [The Pixies]
Notes
By the time Steve showed up, everyone had given up on him. Danny was already strapping on his bass. Finally, Kado arrived, shoved through the crowd and jumped on stage as everyone else started playing "The peeker." Best show ever.

Roadrunner [The Modern Lovers]

Comfortably numb [Pink Floyd]
The peeker
What goes on [The Velvet Underground]
Found your way out of it
Notes
The P.A. almost died, the bass amp was rush-rented from L&M, most songs disintegrated before they finished...in other words, one of our best shows. The version of "Roadrunner" on the T.S. Records compilation CD is from this set.

Tranzac Club
with The Tom Glenne 5.5, The Moments, Joanne Boland, more
Personnel

Set list

Flagrante delicto
The peeker
Who do we think they are?
D'yer mak'er [Led Zeppelin]
Identicall
Notes
This was Tom Glenne's "Moon and Sun Original Music Ballroom," and our first show with Steve Kado. All the freaky-freaks leaped on stage at the end to sing the "Why is it all a joke?" refrain in "Identicall." Somewhere, a video documentary by our friend Rob exists of this night, complete with our near-breakup five minutes before going on stage.

The Free Times Cafe
(as Todd Harrison and The Unseen Guest)
with Tom Glenne, more
Personnel
Todd -- acoustic guitar, vocals
Danny -- acoustic guitar, vocals, harmonica

Set list
Fifty mission cap [The Tragically Hip]
Eye of the tiger [Survivor]

Why don't we do it in the road? [The Beatles]
On the road again (altered lyrics) [Canned Heat]
Notes
This is perhaps the only time we've ever shared a stage with (and been upstaged by) a television. Tom Glenne envisioned a "hockey show," with bands providing the between-periods and during-commercial-breaks entertainment. We kinda sucked a lot, but the name "Trucks Leaving" was born while sitting around, high, after this show.

And so it begins. So many highlights Danny's off-the-cuff solo a third of the way through "Dogs;" Will's spoken word bit during "Sheep;" and the digression
into "Welcome to the machine," to name three.
